NSF CAREER Writing Group

About the NSF CAREER Writing Group

The NSF Faculty Early Career Development (CAREER) Program is an NSF-wide activity that offers the National Science Foundation's most prestigious awards in support of early-career faculty who have the potential to serve as academic role models in research and education and to lead advances in the mission of their department or organization. Activities pursued by early-career faculty build a firm foundation for a lifetime of leadership in integrating education and research.

Research Advancement leads a writing group designed to prepare early-career faculty to submit NSF CAREER proposals. This writing group will review the structure and tone of successful NSF CAREER proposals, help you develop effective strategies for difficult sections like the Education Plan, Broader Impacts, and Departmental Letter of Recommendation, and give you an opportunity to get real-time peer feedback on your application.

Writing group meetings have not yet been determined for the 2026-2027 academic year. Registration to participate in the writing group for 2026-2027 has not yet opened.

Please note that a commitment to participate in all sessions is required to be enrolled. Participants receive support to secure and compensate an outside reviewer prior to submission.

Please contact the Research Advancement Team via email ([email protected]) with any questions.
