Innovation Champions

Near-Peer Mentors for SDSU Innovators

SDSU Innovation Champions are accomplished innovators charged with serving their peers within their college communities as familiar sources of information on topics including commercialization, intellectual property, and translating research into impactful solutions.

These champions also serve as a direct line of feedback to help the Technology Transfer Office improve its services and identify additional researchers in need of support.

Selection of Champions

These champions were invited to participate based on their leadership, research history, and experience with translation, along with other factors. They complete a brief training orientation and then serve a two-year term, recognized as faculty service for tenure and promotion purposes. They are expected to participate in innovation events and update their colleagues about new opportunities and support for innovation.
