Frequently Asked Questions about SCCUR 2026

Students can register to present either an oral or a poster presentation. We will also have opportunities to present visual and performing arts projects.

No. Students are only allowed to submit one abstract. Because this is a one-day conference, space will be limited.

Yes. If you graduated in the spring or summer of 2026, you are welcome to present your research at SCCUR.

No. Your faculty mentor/advisor does not need to be present at the conference.

Yes. Presenting preliminary results is permitted. Presentations must include some level of results. We will not accept abstracts about proposed studies or proposed research.

Yes. High school students working with mentors at a college or university can submit an abstract for the conference.

Yes. High school students are welcome to attend the conference as non-presenters.

Only one individual can present an oral presentation or a poster presentation. However, co-authors can, and should be included in your presentation. Co-authors are welcome to register for the conference as non-presenters or submit a separate abstract for their own presentation.

Early-bird submissions: Abstracts submitted by Jul. 31 will receive a decision by Sept. 20.
Standard submissions: Abstracts submitted by Oct. 9 will receive a decision by Oct. 20.

If you are presenting at the conference, the registration fee includes: access to all SCCUR presentations, professional development sessions, graduate school and industry fair, lunch, and parking.

Conference registration for presenters and general attendees is anticipated to open on July 31st, 2026.

Yes. Early bird registration rates are $90 for student presenters. Early bird registration is from July 31 to October 23, 2026. Students submitting abstracts by July 31, 2026, will be guaranteed early bird registration. The rate for general conference attendees (e.g., non-presenters) is $40. There is no early bird registration rate for general attendees.

Yes. Parking is included with your conference registration. There are several large parking structures available for attendees. More information about parking will be available closer to the date of the conference.
